We’re celebrating the upcoming release of my third Food Lovers’ Village mystery, BUTTER OFF DEAD (July 7—save the suspense and pre-order it now!), with a glimpse of some of your favorite authors’ prized collections.
CONNIE ARCHER, author of Ladle to the Grave, 4th in the Soup Lovers’ Mysteries, shares two collections.
Of her dice, she says simply “Dice remind me that it’s important to take chances in life.”
My invitation prompted her to look around and notice a collection for the first time.
“I never realized we actually had a collection of masks and faces. It’s accumulated over the years, they’re strange, but I love them. Maybe it has something to do with loving mysteries, i.e., wondering what’s behind the mask.”
“We’ve picked them up over the years in strange places. The Cyclops comes from an island off Sicily where Homer first wrote about them; the elephant mask we found in a junk shop in Venice, California.”
Find out more about Connie and her delicious books at her website, and join her on Facebook, or Twitter, SnowflakeVT.
Leave a comment on my Facebook page or blog for a chance to win a SIGNED COPY of LADLE TO THE GRAVE. Ruff the Cat will choose a winner at random—check back in the morning to find out!
(Hint: if you subscribe to the blog, you’ll receive the posts by email and you won’t have to hunt for them on FB.)

I’ve never read any of Connie Archer’s books. I’d love to start with this one! Thank you!
Collecting is fun! I have a mug collection.
And if you win, you can make some of Connie’s soup recipes and serve them in your mugs! Thanks for commenting.
I don’t think I could live with a mask collection staring at me.
They’re both cool and a little spooky at the same time, aren’t they — all those eyes! From what Connie says, sounds like they’re scattered around the house. We’ve got a few, too — hmm, maybe I should post pics of those later!
I guess I kind of collect teapots and cups. I don’t have much space for display or storage. I do, however, have a pretty big collection of cookbooks. Thanks for the giveaway!
Storage and display space is always a challenge, isn’t it? I think there may be a cookbook giveaway later in the contest….
I’m fairly new to Cozy Mysteries, but this sounds like a book I would like. Thanks for the chance to win this giveaway.
Welcome, John, and thanks for visiting the blog!
I collect cozy mystery and cookbooks. I love read and cook.
Hi, Kiki! Fun soup recipes in Ladle to the Grave — and a cookbook giveaway later in the contest!
I’m not really a collector, but I have started collecting Cozy Mysteries! And, I would love to add this to my growing collection. My 11 year old grandson told me that he would make me a bookcase! Thank you for the chance to add this to my pile of books. – ruthmazur46@gmail.com – Ruth Lyons Mazur
This author is new to me but the premise looks interesting. I collect rocks…from places we travel or places other people travel and bring back to me. 2 prized rocks? Geodes, not cracked, that my Mom picked up many years ago and some pieced of petrified forest a friend from AZ. gave to me from his yard. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Carrie, what a lovely way to remember your travels — and your mother. Thanks for commenting!

Hope I’m doing this right. Would like to win a Connie Archer book as I’m a soup lover. I belong to a TEDDY AND TOYS CLUB and we all collect and one gal collects dice too. I collect lots of things but love my 200 pieces of old Fiesta China as I’m 80 and this reminds me of my mother.

Oh, Ruth, sounds like you have the collector gene! Teddy and Toys Clubs are new to me — what one. 200 pieces of Fiestaware is pretty impressive — Pepper, the main character in my Seattle Spice Shop mysteries, collects them, too. Thanks for commenting!
I collect cookbooks and angels.
This sounds like a great book/series.
Thanks for the give away.
interesting collection
I have never ready any of Connie’s books but this looks like a great way to start. Thank you for the opportunity.
Thank you for the chance. I collect books and for some reason ink pens. Lol. This book sounds great.
Ah, but can you find a pen when you need one! 🙂
